  • Overview:

This 3 days desert tour starts from Fez and ends at Marrakech, including magnificent milestones along the way such as: riding camels and spending the night in a camp in the Sahara desert, visiting the towns of Azrou (where you can play with wild macaque monkeys) and Ifrane, then navigating through the high Atlas regions like the Ziz Valley, Dades and Todra gorges, the Valley of Roses, the palmary of Skoura, Ouarzazate city and Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah (a UNESCO world heritage site).

    DAY 1: FES – IFRANE – AZROU – MIDELT – ERRACHIDIA – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA

The trip will officially start once we come pick you up from your accommodation in Fez at around 8 in the morning before heading south. Our first stop along the way will be at the nearby Ifrane town, nicknamed the Switzerland of Morocco for its beautiful and unique weather. Later on we will continue driving by the Cedar forests of Azrou, where we can stop to see wild Macaque monkeys. For lunch, we will stop by a traditional restaurant at the town of Midelt, after which you will enjoy mountainous landscapes while we drive through the Tizin Tlghamt mountain pass. Once we reach the Ziz valley, we will stop so you can fully enjoy the lush green views of the valley and take photographs of its gorges if you wish to. Next, we will continue driving by Errachidia, Aoufouss and Erfoud (where we can stop at one of the fossilized marble workshops), to finally reach the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi. The dunes lay at the edge of a desert village called Merzouga, where we will check in at a hotel to rest for a little bit and prepare for our upcoming camel trekking journey. The camel ride will last for one hour and a half, during which you can enjoy a magical sunset over the desert dunes. Our destination will be a private camp hidden deep inside the desert, where we will have dinner and spend the night in nomad style tents.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – TODRA GORGE – DADES GORGE

We will head back to the hotel in order to shower and have breakfast, then we will start driving towards Tinghir, passing by the towns of Rissani and Erfoud. We will have lunch at the beautiful Todra gorges, which is a heavenly location characterized by its palmary and the ruins of old Kasbahs. After that we will move on to the next location which is Boumalen Dades; where you can enjoy the unique landscapes and rock formations of the Dades gorges. These gorges are described by many as one of top most interesting roads in Morocco. Eventually, we will check in at a local hotel where we will be spending the night. But before that, we will have a delicious dinner accompanied by live music.

DAY 3: DADES GORGE – SKOURA – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH

For the last day of this trip, we will have breakfast at the hotel, before leaving towards the Hollywood of Morocco: Ouarzazate. On our way there, we will drive by the immense Skoura palm groves, then once at Ouarzazate we will start by paying a visit to the historical Taourirt Kasbah. After that, we will stop by the famous Atlas filming studios, before leaving towards the neighboring Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. We will have lunch in this UNESCO world heritage location then finally start heading to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, driving by the Tizin Tichka mountain pass. Our services will end as we drop off at Marrakech.
